Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if this is right for me? The best way to find out is to talk with us. We offer a complimentary 15-minute consultation to explore whether our approach aligns with your goals. No pressure, no commitment, just an honest conversation about whether we're a good fit.
What is a nervous system-focused chiropractor? Most people think of chiropractic care as treatment for back and neck pain. Nervous system-focused chiropractic goes deeper. Your spine houses the central communication pathway between your brain and every organ, muscle, and tissue in your body. When that pathway is disrupted by stress, injury, or accumulated tension, the effects show up as more than just pain. We work to restore clear communication along that pathway, so your body can function the way it's designed to. The result is often broader than people expect: less pain, yes, but also better sleep, improved stress response, more energy, and greater resilience.
What's the difference between BGI and traditional chiropractic? Traditional chiropractic, specifically the Diversified Technique we use, applies a precise manual thrust to restore motion in restricted joints. It's direct, effective, and time-tested. Bio-Geometric Integration (BGI) works differently. Rather than applying force, it uses light, precise contact that follows the natural geometry of your structure, inviting shifts your body is already ready to make. Breath awareness and mindful movement are integrated into the process. The two techniques aren't in competition. We use them together: Diversified creates the opening, and BGI helps it last.
Will I get adjusted on my first visit? Your first adjustment typically happens at your Report of Findings visit, your second appointment. This gives us time to assess your nervous system before we begin care. If you'd prefer an adjustment on the same day as your exam, there is an additional $75 fee.
Do you take X-rays? We don't have X-ray equipment in our office. If imaging is clinically indicated based on your exam findings, we'll refer you to an imaging center and incorporate those results into your care plan. It is not common for us torequest an X-ray, and it depends on the severity of your condition.
What should I wear? Comfortable athletic clothing that allows a full range of motion works best. You'll be moving through a variety of assessments, so anything you'd wear to a yoga class or gym is ideal.
What is the popping sound during an adjustment? Not every adjustment produces a sound, and that's completely normal. When you do hear it, that's simply the release of gas from the synovial fluid in the joint as pressure shifts rapidly. It's a sign the joint is moving. It's harmless, and for many people, it comes with an immediate sense of relief.
What is a subluxation? A subluxation occurs when tension or compression in the spine interferes with the communication of your nervous system. That interference can show up as pain, tightness, tingling, numbness, or other symptoms. It's also very correctable, which is why you're here.
Can chiropractic care help with more than back and neck pain? Yes. Because every organ, muscle, and tissue in your body has a nerve supply, and those nerves originate in your spine, nervous system health affects far more than musculoskeletal pain. We see clients who've experienced meaningful shifts in headaches and migraines, digestive function, stress response, sleep, and overall resilience. We're not claiming to cure anything. We're removing interference so your body can do what it already knows how to do.
Do you take insurance? We're an out-of-network provider. We can provide superbills with all necessary diagnostic codes for you to submit for potential reimbursement if your plan covers out-of-network chiropractic care. HSA and FSA cards are welcome.
We accept VA benefits and bill directly for authorized services.
For patients 65 and older, our pricing follows Medicare fee schedule guidelines. You're responsible for payment at the time of service and can submit to Medicare for reimbursement if you have coverage. We don't bill Medicare directly, but we provide all the documentation you need to do so. This applies to all patients aged 65 and above, whether or not you have Medicare coverage.
Is chiropractic care safe during pregnancy? Yes. We have specialized pillows to support all stages of pregnancy comfortably. Chiropractic care during pregnancy can support better positioning, reduce discomfort like sciatica and round ligament pain, and help your nervous system adapt to the remarkable changes your body is going through. Patients who receive care throughout their pregnancy receive a complimentary newborn adjustment.
Why would I bring my child to a chiropractor? Birth, whether vaginal or cesarean, long or short, can place significant stress on a baby's spine and nervous system. As children grow, learn to crawl, walk, and fall, those accumulated stresses can affect spinal alignment and nervous system development. We recommend nervous system check-ups from birth onward, not because something is necessarily wrong, but because early support builds resilience.
Do I have to come forever? No. Your care is yours, and it serves you for as long as it's valuable to you. Many of our clients choose to continue with wellness care because of how they feel and function with consistent support. Others complete a focused care plan and check in seasonally. The choice is always yours, and we'll never create dependency or pressure you to stay beyond what makes sense for your life.
Do you offer home guidance? Yes. Education is central to how we practice. Through personalized resources, movement guidance, breathwork practices, and in-office instruction, we give you tools to support your nervous system between visits. Our goal is to help you understand your body well enough to make informed decisions about your own health, not to keep you reliant on us.
What happens if I've been away from care for a while? Life happens, and we never want you to feel like you've fallen too far behind to come back. If it's been six months or more since your last visit, we'll start with a Re-Start Exam ($150) before resuming adjustments. This gives us a current picture of where your body is, so we can make sure we're picking up in the right place, not just where we left off.
What if I'm feeling sick? Please use your best judgment. If you're unwell, we ask that you contact us before your appointment so we can figure out the right path forward together. We know some people feel better with care even when under the weather, and we're happy to talk it through.
